Keep those games alive!

Children are inventive, original and very messy. As they get older they start losing these nice qualities. Some manage to hold on. This is what I am trying to do with this blog. My brother - a great inventor of games - kept most of my childhood happily occupied with his original games. This blog started out as a way to keep those games alive. Do read the first few posts to enter his wonderful world. Reader contributions welcome :)

And this is it.

I'm done with the games for now... might be back, might not. So, boys and girls, seek your entertainment elsewhere!

Pic of LEGO Klutz Race car that I made after making sure the kiddo was asleep. Zooms 6 feet on rubberband power alone. The record, I am told, is 9 feet after waxing the axle.

And don't you dare quit writing on your blog. If you can't think of more games to post on, write about other stuff, what's stopping you? Disgushting I say! :-)

Guys, thanks :) *sniff* Am touched, and I'm being dead serious.
Wonder if I'll think of anything to write, though. Wonder if I'll have the inclination to think of anything. But rest assured, all your blogs will see plenty of my comments :)

Hey Bharath, first of all I owe you an apology... made you co-blogger, and then all but closed this blog!!!! But "All hell breaks loose"?????!!!!!

OK, some explanantions in are in order... The point of this blog was to record some games I liked and that's done :) But the biggest bonus was meeting some really cool people, and so I will continue to litter your blogs with my comments. That is far more fun to do than think of something interesting to say! Rest assured, I will not disappear :)

@Tin: At least ONE comment on the race car!!! Thanks :) It's not really technic, and I'm not exactly "into" it, just happened to spot it at Barnes & Noble and a wave of nostalgia came a-flooding :)

@The-person-who-wrote-in-tamil: Sorry, beyond the fact that I can recognise it's in Tamil, I don't have a clue what you're saying!!! Translate, please?

@Adi: Here's another fact about me: I'm known to abandon things... this blog could be one of them... I don't know. At present I just have to inclination to write :) And I do visit delhidreams, but don't comment often because (another fact coming up) I'm poetically challenged. Anything in verse refuses to penetrate this thick head... unless it's a song :)

Blogger Bharath Hemachandran said...

manasu wrote that you he/she really liked the effort you put into building the car and that it was a great idea. Then said regards manasu.

Blogger Cloudy said...

Thanks Bharath for the translation :)

And thanks Manasu, glad you liked the race car! Wouldn't exactly call it "effort", was too much fun for that :)

that means i'll hav to write songs now and translate them into english ;)

Blogger Revealed said...

Hey, got a question. What the heck does it mean when the blog names on the Links section light up? I'm baffled :D

10:06 AM
Blogger Cloudy said...

@Adi: No transaltion required. Hindi is my favourite for songs :) Only thing is, I prefer someone singing them to me!

@Revealed: As baffled as you are :)

Blogger Revealed said...

What's really weird is that it doesn't seem to have any rhyme or reason to it!! I've tried to find a purpose or a pattern or something but I really don't get it! How puzzling!!!

Blogger Cloudy said...

Hey Revealed, didn't realise you still drop comments here!

Hmmmm... last time this happened to me was when the kiddo, having cunningly lured me into believing he was busy putting a circle shaped object into circle shaped hole, -- and having grown a whole inch taller while I wasn't looking -- was actually banging away on my wireless keyboard that I had strategically placed on the ironing table (cuz my desk is too small), and ...you get the idea!

@Cloudy: Hehe. Well kiddo's entitled by nature n all but what's my excuse? :D

ThanQ Revealed! This blog sends me a mail as soon as someone comments, so it's the same thing :)

Blogger Revealed said...

Ahhhh!! That's how it works! So I think I figured out this whole Names on your Blogroll lighting up thing. I think whenever there's a comment added to their posts, it lights up. Could that be a solution? Or is it just ridiculous?

10:33 AM
Blogger Cloudy said...

You may have hit it. Not just a comment, any change on the blog. As an indication that you haven't clicked it. Or that it's changed since the last time you clicked it.

Clear your browsing history, and cache and temp files and everything, and please tell me that all the names are lit up.

Uh-oh, TCP visits here? *resolves to practise more caution in the comments section*

Hehe does TCP have that effect on you too?

What is all this secret conversation going on here about blogs lighting up and emails being sent surreptiously??? Something is definitely fishy I say!

@Obi: This is the space I come to when I need some of Cloudy's wisdom and guidance :P. Immensely reassuring that it still exists. I hope they dont delete it *is now amazingly worried that they will and she wont have anywhere to go for c's w & g*

Hey Tin, I didn't know anyone actually came around here anymore :-) I miss you too, and I miss the son not having you around - He drives me crazy when we go for walks, just as you used to in iisc! (less walk, more squatting and drooling at the ugliest things you find under rocks)
